Activities and Excursions
Pigadi is ideally situated as a base to explore the many wonders of Central Greece. Ferry boats depart from Pigadi itself on a daily basis in high season and transport you to the popular Sporades islands of Skiathos, Skopelos and Aloynisis in less than two hours. In addition, Greeks second largest island, Evia, famed for it hot springs and thermal spas can be reached in less than an hour from a nearby village. Day trips also run to many of the smaller local islands for a chance to escape into a piece of paradise. All these can be arranged personally by Andrea and Yannis.
Looking inland, we have the bustling coastal city of Volos, gateway to the stunning Pelion mountain region, with excellent hiking, climbing and skiing, also the cities of Lamia and Larissa for those who love to shop, all no more than an hour away. A little further a field, only a few hours away, we have the infamous Mount Olympus, home of the gods and the highest mountain in Greece. The simply amazing monasteries of Meteora are a must see, built into the side of mountainous slabs of rock. Also, Delphi, the home of the oracle and Greek antiquity.
